George R. PescaroNorthborough – George R. Pescaro, 82, of Northborough, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Shrewsbury Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Elaine Ann (Publicover) Pescaro; his children, George H. Pescaro, of Millbury, Marie E. Auger and her husband David, of Marlborough, and Gerald R. “Jerry” Pescaro and his wife Kimberly, of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Jessica Auger, Rachel Auger, Ryan Pescaro, Victoria Pescaro, and Matthew Genzale; his siblings, Edward Pescaro and his wife Elaine, of Shrewsbury, and Judith Omidbakhsh and her husband Sohrab, of Shrewsbury; along with several nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his brother, Raymond P. Pescaro, Sr. and his wife Kathleen.

Born in Worcester to the late George and Mary (Shea) Pescaro, George was raised and educated in Shrewsbury. He was very successful in the ownership and operation of a Pepperidge Farm franchise, which is still family owned.

He and his family enjoyed spending summers and weekends in Wells, Maine. George loved Western movies and their collectibles, traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic, gardening, and classic cars. Above all, his family was his world – he loved attending his grandchildren’s activities most of all. He also enjoyed coaching Northborough’s Baseball team from 1967 to 1976, and actually coached in his younger years while he was still dating Elaine.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Pescaro family from 4 – 7 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His prayer service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
