Helen GaleMarlborough – Helen Gale, 89, of Marlborough, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Coleman House Nursing Home in Northborough, MA.

Helen was born in Bridgewater, MA on February 23, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Marcellonis) Usinas. She was the loving wife of the late Paul F. Gale. She lived most of her life as a resident of Marlborough, MA, graduating from Marlborough High School in 1951. She married Paul in 1952, raised 3 children together and celebrated 56 years of marriage before Paul’s death in 2008. Helen was employed for over 20 years as a certified nursing assistant at the former Braemoor, later known as Westridge Nursing Home in Marlborough. She received awards of recognition for her compassion and care of her many patients over the years. Before moving to Coleman House Nursing Home, she also lived at New Horizons in Marlborough.

Helen will always be remembered for her beautiful ceramic creations, singing along to Elvis’ songs, and her masterpiece homemade birthday cakes. Most of all, she had the ability to always be a selfless, kind and loving person to all, always putting their needs above her own. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Linda Garbo and her husband Dr. Charles Garbo of Ithaca, NY, her son, Alan Gale of Marlborough, her grandchildren Jacob and Griffin Gale, and Jeffrey, Rebecca, Benjamin, and Caitlin Garbo and great grandson Micah Garbo. She also leaves behind her brother John Usinas of Marlborough and extended family. Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul, her son Stephen and her sister Mary Ahern. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the wonderful care Helen received at Coleman House.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date with burial at Rural Cemetery in Southborough, MA.
