Geraldine M. FunkNorthborough – Geraldine May Funk, 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on January 19, 2023. Geraldine was born and raised in Chicago, one of five children to Vincent and Evelyn (Seidler) Hasenauer. She graduated Chicago’s Steinmetz High School in 1951 and the following year married the love of her life, Florian J. Funk. Geraldine and Florian shared 61 years of marriage together, separated only by Florian’s own passing in 2014. In 2016 Geraldine relocated to Northborough to be closer to family.

Geraldine dedicated her entire adult life to the upbringing and caring of her beloved family. She looked forward to their activities and taking an active role in their lives. So many memories have been made during weekly card games and the sharing of her wonderful recipes with her children and grandchildren. Her Thanksgiving stuffing and Christmas cookies will continue to be treasured and passed on to the next generation. Family reunions were always special, with one in particular that remained in Geraldine’s heart. It meant so much to be surprised by her sisters Joyce and Gloria who traveled in from Chicago, unbeknownst to Geraldine. She also enjoyed golf, swimming, having coffee with friends, reading and mastering puzzles.
