Rev. Fr. Ronald G. CalhounUxbridge – Reverend Father Ronald G. Calhoun, 75, of Uxbridge, MA, passed away peacefully, at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, January 27, 2023, after a courageous battle with urethal and kidney cancer.

Fr. Ron was born in Dorchester, MA, on March 17, 1947, one of 4 children  of the late George W. and Glenness R. (Fuller) Calhoun. He was an alumni of Boston College High School class of 1964 and subsequently entered Saint John’s Seminary in Brighton, MA., earning a Master of Divinity Degree in 1972. He later matriculated at Andover Newton Theology School, where he earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Psychology. Father Ron was ordained in the Boston Diocese in 1972 and began his ministry as a Parochial Vicar at St. John Parish in Wellesley and St. Athanasius Parish in Reading. He was assigned his first pastoral position at Sacred Heart Parish in Middleborough. He was later reassigned as the pastor of St Jeremiah and St George’s Parish in Framingham, before taking his final Pastoral position at St Michael Parish in Hudson. Fr. Ron dedicated his life to serving God and helping others. He was a spiritual advisor to the Holy Sisters in Groton, a member of the Archdiocese Emergency Response Team and a Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

When Fr. Ron had free time; he was most comfortable in the kitchen preparing gourmet meals as a master chef, until his illness five years ago. He loved to listen to music and was a voracious reader. Fr. Ron also loved to spend time by the ocean, especially at Myrtle Beach.

Fr. Ron leaves behind many heartbroken friends and family members including his longtime companion, Rev. Fr. Robert A. Rochon; his sister, Mary F. Calhoun; 2 Brothers, Walter F. Calhoun and his wife Joanne and Gerald J. Calhoun and his nephew, Matthew Calhoun.

All are welcome to a period of visitation from 4-7pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 and 10am-12pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023, following the visitation. Committal Services will be held privately at a later date.

Father Ron has requested that all flowers be omitted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to:Dana- Farber Cancer Institute, Bladder and Kidney Research, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.

The Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home of Hudson assisted with arrangements.
