Theresa L. VuonaVictorville, Calif. – Theresa L. (Simon) Vuona, 80, of Victorville, California formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on her birthday, January 19, 2023 surrounded by her loving children. Theresa was welcomed in heaven into the arms of the “Love of her life” Robert P. Vuona, Sr. who passed away this past April 3rd.

Theresa was born January 19, 1943, in Worcester, daughter of Christopher V. and Phyllis R. (Stratton) Simon.  Raised in MA, Theresa met and married “The love of her life”  Robert P. Vuona, Sr. in 1963, and began a 59-year marriage of love, faith, and family, raising their family in Shrewsbury before moving to California in 1984. Theresa worked as a copywrite consultant for California State Polytechnic University many years before retiring.

She is survived by; her three children, Maria A. Ricciardi and her husband Joseph of Babylon, New York; Linda J. Broders of Newport Beach, California; Robert P. Vuona Jr. and his wife Jacqueline of Torrence, California; two grandsons whom she cherished, Paul Ricciardi and his fiancé Kim Lewis, and James Ricciardi; a sister, Cynthia Learned in California; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members around the United States. In addition to her parents, and Bob, she is predeceased by three sisters, Marilyn Morris, Elizabeth “Betty” Simon and Eleanor “Ellie” Fitzpatrick.

She was a devoted and beloved member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Victorville, CA.. She loved having family around her. The holidays, special celebrations, and moments she could be with them were times she and Bob always treasured. Theresa was also an avid stitcher and found great pride and peace while sewing or stitching in her crafts room. She particularly liked and was very talented with Brazilian embroidery.

A period of calling hours will be held Saturday, March 4th2023, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am follow by a prayer service in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street. Burial next to her husband Robert will follow in Mtn. View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
