James A. Parker Jr.York, PA – James A. “Jim” Parker, Jr., 81, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy M. (Mycko) Parker to whom he was married for 57 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, PA, is in charge of arrangements.

Born May 13, 1941 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late James A. Parker, Sr., and Ruth (Patterson) Parker.

With a degree in mechanical engineering, Jim Parker worked most of his life in the furniture industry. He started his own business called JP Design and Manufacturing and worked with several local businesses to design and manufacture parts for lines of furniture. He also designed, manufactured and sold his own portable fitness bench.

He was known for his intelligence, drive, professionalism and high ethical standard.

A family man, Jim and his wife enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Many of his later years were spent at the “Bayhouse” along the Eastern Shore of Virginia, drinking good wine and watching the sunset.

In addition to his wife, Jim Parker is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. Parker of Edgewater, Maryland and Katherine J. Scott and her husband, David, of La Plata, Maryland, one son, Matthew J. Parker of Williamsport, and two granddaughters, Emma and Ella Scott.
