Bernadette E. HarrisHudson – Bernadette E. (Pitts), 92, a longtime resident of Hudson, MA passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to Bruce E. Harris Jr. who died in 2010.

Bernadette leaves her children, George Harris of Southborough, MA, Bruce Harris and his wife Nancy of Marlborough, MA, Suzanne McGrath, wife of the late William J. McGrath of Marlborough, MA, Paul Harris and his partner Gisele Giordano of Douglas, MA, Russell Harris and his wife Concetta of Sterling, MA, Scott Harris and his wife Suzanne Murphy of Wayland, MA and Roxanne Curley of Rutland, MA. She also leaves her 19 grandchildren, Elaine Smith, Christian McGrath, Laura Barrett, Melinda Linstad, Stephanie Harris, Molly McGrath, Anthony Harris, Bruce R. Harris, Daniel Harris, Nicholas Harris, Paul Harris Jr., Nicole Harris, Ali Curley, Nathaniel Harris, Ana Curley, Alexandria Harris, Jackson, Harris, Gabriella Harris, Jacob Curley; 17 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews, many cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, Joseph J. Pitts Jr., James H. Pitts; her sister Pauline McKinley and survived by her sister-in-law Patricia McCurdy Pitts.

Bernadette was born and raised in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Joseph J. and Margaret C. (McDonald) Pitts. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School. She moved to Hudson in 1950 eventually purchasing real estate adjacent to her parents and along with her husband Bruce they raised their family. She spent most of her younger years caring for the family home and her children. She spent time working in the cafeteria at the Farley Elementary School in Hudson. She was a member of Saint Isidore Parish in Stow.

Bernadette’s passion in her life was her family and later her grandchildren. She attended all of her children’s sporting events and remained active in all her grandchildren’s events as well. She always looked forward to visiting Las Vegas with family and friends and the older slot machines were her favorite. She enjoyed playing bingo and socializing with friends. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion and wonderful memories for all who loved and knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 3 to 5pm on Sunday,  February 26, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Saint Isidore Parish Church, 429 Great Road, Stow, MA; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.
