Westborough – Ann (Neiburg) Peterson, 94, previously of Holliston, MA and Portsmouth, NH, and recent resident of Westborough, MA, passed away peacefully March 5, 2023.
Born July 31, 1928, and raised in St. Albans, VT. Ann was the daughter of Samuel and Amelia (Kushner) Neiburg. After attending St. Albans High School, Ann graduated from Becker Junior College in 1948.
Grammy Ann, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, never met a stranger in her 94+ years as anyone who met her was charmed by her warmth and welcoming persona.
While living in Holliston she was actively involved with the local VFW Auxiliary, the Masonic Lodge and DeMolay Chapter. After moving to Portsmouth, she volunteered for many years at Visiting Nurses. Ann loved seeing the sunrise over the beach and bird watching.
She is survived by her son Jack of Huntsville, AL, daughter Sally (Peterson) and husband Martin Hayes of Shrewsbury, MA, daughter Suzanne Peterson of Ayer, MA, daughter Nancy (Peterson) and husband Dana Hewins of Lakeville, MA, along with sister Dorothy Neiburg of Essex Junction, VT. Grammy Ann will also be missed by her grandchildren Kelsey Peterson, Jesse Peterson, Jeremy Peterson, Samuel Hayes, Michael and wife Tracey Hewins, Audrey Hewins, Debbie Hewins, as well as her great grandchildren.
Ann was predeceased by her husband John G. Peterson, Jr., and brothers Robert Neiburg, Tom Neiburg and Peter Neiburg.
When God wanted His love to be given to the children, He created mothers. When He wanted latkes, humor and kisses to be given He created Ann. Rest in Peace (Ru in Shlum) Grammy Ann. Your love will remain in all those you have touched.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at Pine Grove Cemetery, 106 South Street, Westborough, MA.
Her family thanks The Coleman House, of Northborough, MA, for their loving care of Ann over the last six months.
