Winter Storm Update: Classes canceled
A late winter storm will send rain, snow and wind to most of southern New England.

A late-season nor’easter is bringing snow, rain and wind to much of southern New England from overnight Monday into early Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the area from 8 p.m. on Monday until 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Local cities and towns are getting ready for the storm, which could bring heavy, wet snow, high winds and possible power outages.

Here is an update of closures and delays.

Grafton

Grafton Public Schools has canceled classes and programs for Tuesday, March 14.

Trash pickup will proceed on Tuesday as scheduled. If there is any change due to weather, the town will keep residents updated.

Hudson

Due to the inclement weather, all Hudson Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, March 14. Before- and after-school activities and programs are also cancelled. The Central Administration Building will be closed.

Due to the inclement weather, Hudson Public Schools will be rescheduling the in-district day for Dr. Alexandra McNeil to Tuesday, March 21.  The public is invited to come to an open Q & A session from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at HHS in room F101 to meet the candidates.

Her interview will be held at 7 p.m. and can be attended by the public.

Hudson Public Library is closed for the day.

Marlborough

Marlborough Public Schools, Advanced Math and Science Academy and Assabet Valley Regional School District have canceled classes for the day.

Marlborough School Committee has canceled its meeting for tonight.

Winter Parking Ban in effect. Do not park on the street overnight and during the storm. Vehicles left on the roadway will risk getting cited and towed.

Republic has stopped its curbside operation today due to weather. They are 75% completed with trash routes and 30% completed with recycling routes. Republic plans to have a truck completing the remaining trash by this Thursday, and then completing the remaining recycling by Saturday. Residents who have not had their trash or recycling bins picked-up should keep their bins out until picked up. If you have not had your trash picked up by Friday morning, contact the DPW at 508-624-6910 to notify us.

Northborough

St. Bernadette School has canceled classes for Tuesday, March 14.

So has Northborough and Southborough Public Schools, as well as Algonquin Regional.

The Northborough Public Library will be closed today. Staff will be answering emails and phone calls during regular business hours.

Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Public Schools has canceled classes for Tuesday, March 14.

So has St. John’s School.

Shrewsbury public buildings will be closed. Waste Management will not be operating on Tuesday, March 14; trash and recycling will be delayed one day throughout the week.

Tuesday stops will be done on Wednesday

Wednesday stops will be done on Thursday

Thursday stops will be done on Friday

Friday stops will be done on Saturday

Please make sure your materials are out by 7 am, not in the street and not covered with snow.

Westborough

The Westborough Town Election will proceed as scheduled. All non-essential town office buildings will be closed.

The Select Board meeting scheduled for March 14 has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 16, at 6 p.m.

Westborough Public Schools is closed for a Professional Development Day.

A winter parking ban will be in effect from 8 p.m. Monday until the storm passes. The ban applies to any public street in town.
