Kevin J. CroninRutland – Kevin James Cronin, 69, formerly of Shrewsbury and Worcester, of Rutland, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, March 10, 2023.

He was born on April 29, 1953 in Worcester to Anthony B. and Marion E. (Sullivan) Cronin. He never was viewed or viewed himself as a man that was challenged. Family was everything for him and he was fortunate to have such a strong bond with his brother and best friend Tony, and the extended family he created throughout his life.

Kevin was a proud member of Special Olympics with numerous medals earned in swimming. He worked at Shaws, Sam’s club, and Clark university as part of Seven Hills community employment program.

He enjoyed many hobbies from membership at the YMCA to continue his love of swimming, watching his weekly wrestling, football (Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots), golf, basketball and the Red Sox. He enjoyed a variety of music from Madonna to Motown and movies especially Marylyn Monroe and old Hollywood classics. Loved the beach and travel culinary pleasures.

Kevin made friends within all areas of his life and local businesses and was extremely social wherever he went. Everyone who was fortunate to have known him will continue to remember so many memories and moments of laughter and his larger-than-life characteristics.

He leaves his brother Tony and sisters Marilyn and Sheila, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts.

Graveside services will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St, Worcester at a time and day to be announced.

The Chiampa Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
