Elaine A. PescaroNorthborough – Elaine Ann (Publicover) Pescaro, 80, longtime resident of Northborough, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, George R. Pescaro, in December of 2022.

She leaves her children, George H. Pescaro, of Millbury, Marie E. Auger, and her husband David, of Marlborough, and Gerald R. “Jerry” Pescaro and his wife Kimberly, of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Jessica Auger, Rachel Auger, Ryan Pescaro, Victoria Pescaro, and Matthew Genzale; her sister, Ruth Johnson of Auburn; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband George, Elaine was predeceased by a sister Joyce Bylund.

Born in Worcester to the late Stephen and Elsie (Perks) Publicover, and was later raised in Auburn. She attended Auburn High School. Elaine married her best friend and lifelong partner, George on September 23, 1961 at Saint Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. Together, Elaine and George held ownership and operated a Pepperidge Farm franchise where Elaine tended to the bookkeeping responsibilities of the business, the family still proudly operates this franchise.

She enjoyed spending weekends in Wells, Maine. Elaine loved traveling, especially to Las Vegas and the Dominican Republic. Her family meant the world to her– she loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and was an avid Beanie Babies Collector. Elaine Co-founded the women’s softball league in Northborough and was faithfully dedicated to her Bingo Nights at the K of C in Westborough and the Northborough Senior Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Pescaro family from 4 – 6 PM on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her prayer service will be held at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
