WESTBOROUGH – The 2.92-acre site at 95 Turnpike Road that has served as a restaurant for decades will become an Asian restaurant and market.
Plans filed with the town earlier this month would renovate and alter the space that was most recently the Chateau.
According to the site plan review application filed with the town, the current restaurant space is 12,227 square feet; the proposal asks to construct additional areas totaling 8,059 square feet. There would be improvements made to parking, landscaping, lighting and drainage.
The proposal includes the construction of a 30-by-60-foot outdoor patio.
During the Planning Board meeting on Tuesday, March 21, attorney Mark Kablack presented the site plan on behalf of the applicant, Westborough 95 Turnpike Road LLC.
The proposed restaurant would provide seating for up to 330 customers between the restaurant, the lounge and the patio. About 200 square feet would be set aside for a retail area.
There would be 131 parking spaces (including two electric vehicle charging stations planned for the future).
Over the years, the site has been the home for the Red Barn, Tom Foolery’s and the Naked Fish.
