Zarape in Marlborough reopens after renovations

MARLBOROUGH – After being closed most of the winter for renovations, Zarape Mexican restaurant on Maple Street reopened on Friday, March 24.

The restaurant closed for renovations back in January.

“It’s doing very well so far,” said Ana Varela, the restaurant’s manager. “We appreciate all of the support.”

“Zarape is getting a major makeover!” the restaurant wrote on their Facebook page. “We’ll be sharing the journey with you! Thank you all for your support.”

Since they closed, staff frequently shared updates on the status of and photos from the renovation, including the installation of the new bar.

According to Patch, Rosa Varela and Gerardo Guzman opened the restaurant, which was the former site of Louis Cafe, in 2012.
