John had an intense passion for sports. He played baseball throughout high school and played on the Boston State team. He was able to instill his love of sports into his children and spent many years continuing to coach little league and high school. His love of sports continued into retirement, and he spent these years on the golf course at Wedgewood Pines or Wayland Country Club, even shooting scores lower than his age.  At home, you could always find John with his headphones on watching a Patriots game or checking the score of a Red Sox Game.

He had the ability to connect with those around him and was never shy to share his opinions with his friends and family, whether they liked it or not.
