Patrick J. Colaluca Jr.Hudson – Patrick “Flag” Joseph Colaluca Jr., a long-time resident of Hudson, passed away Monday, the 3rd of April, at the Milford Regional Medical Center.

Born to Patrick and Jacqueline Colaluca in Boston, Massachusetts in 1950, Pat graduated from Hudson High School and joined the workforce. He spent most of his career working for the state of Massachusetts as an Inventory Control Specialist for the Department of Employment and Training. He was also a long-time member of the Board of Health for the town of Hudson.

Pat was an avid woodworker, building birdhouses and wooden lamps that he enjoyed selling at local fairs with his fiancee Patty. He enjoyed his retirement, spending time in nature watching birds, seeing the wild horses of the Outer Banks, and building model cars. Pat was a huge animal lover and adopted several elder rescue dogs. He could often be found playing chess or Upwords with loved ones, with a better record for chess than his score for Upwords. He loved the opportunity to cheer his granddaughter on in any of her sports endeavors, especially her basketball games.

Patrick was preceded in death by his grandson James Joseph Scavone IV.  He is survived by his sister Deborah Colaluca Small and her husband Francis of Milford; his fiancee Patty Simmons of Maynard; his daughter Amy Scavone and her husband James of Clinton; his son Patrick Colaluca of Lancaster; his stepson Michael Simmons and his wife Beth of Holden; his stepdaughter Elizabeth Simmons and her husband Justin of Sterling; his granddaughter Isabella Scavone of Clinton; his niece Elizabeth Savage and her husband Scott of Hopedale; his niece Caitlyn Small of Milford; his niece Cathleen Desmond of Milford; and several great-nephews and great-nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Family and friends may attend a period of visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the service. Committal services will be private in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough, MA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pat’s name to Buddy Dog Humane Society of Sudbury, Massachusetts.
