Suzanne E. PetersonNorthborough – Suzanne E. (Bastien, Valente) Peterson, 64, of Northborough passed away peacefully Wednesday April 5, 2023, surrounded by her four sisters, and her husband and partner of 23 years Scott D. Peterson.

She was born in Pittsfield, the daughter of Marie A. (Perini) Bastien of Marlborough  and the late Arthur D. Bastien. She was raised in Marlborough and was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 1976. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Assumption College and a Master’s degree in business administration from Nichols College. Suzanne was a Production Control Manager at Flir in Billerica for 22 years before retiring last year. Prior to Flir she worked at Aseco in Marlborough, and LFE in Clinton.

She enjoyed reading, the beach, travel, biking, baking, Cape Cod and loved dogs. Often volunteering at Sterling Animal Shelter and fostering numerous puppies. She will be remembered as a peacemaker, compassionate, reserved and kind, always putting others’ needs before her own. Sue and Scott traveled the world, including hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, touring Italy, Switzerland, Bermuda, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Sue also loved to work in her yard and on her window flower boxes at their beach house in Harwichport.

She leaves her husband Scott D. Peterson of Northborough; her mother, Marie A. Bastien, four sisters, Michelle M. Stevens of Winston Salem, NC, Adrienne A. MacDonald of Marlborough, Jeanne M. Dieterly of Shrewsbury and Christine M. Bastien of Marlborough; mother-in-law Helen Peterson and sister-in-law Pamela French both of Northbridge; ten nephews and nieces and many cousins. She also leaves her two loving dogs, Buster and Summer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday April 13 at 11 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
