Thomas W. RyanUxbridge – Thomas W. “Tom” Ryan, 84, formerly of Shrewsbury, of Uxbridge and a Lowell native, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023 with his life partner, Barbara Coluci by his side.

Born September 5, 1938 to the late Thomas Leo and Anne Dorothy (Corfield) Ryan of Lowell, Tom was the first of three siblings. From a very young age, Tom could win a room over with a smile and attracted attention with his outgoing personality. He remained this way throughout his life, gaining many friends. After graduating high school, Tom joined the Navy and served his country.

After his tenure with the Navy, Tom cultivated a career as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Morgan Construction (now known as Siemens) of Worcester. Tom’s career with Siemens spanned over 35 years, with extensive travel to offices in India, Romania, Japan, Trinidad and many more. Tom loved to attend the company summer parties and work outings, and had friendships with many coworkers that traversed decades. While at Siemens, Tom met his second wife Dorothy. They were married in 1989 and raised his third daughter in Shrewsbury. It was during that time that Tom became a dedicated Fourth Degree member of The Bishop O’Reilly Assembly 399 and the Shrewsbury Knights of Columbus Council #4181, where he served two terms as Grand Knight, as well as the past Bar Manager; he was a staple many weekends tending the bar together with Dorothy. He was a part of KOC Bocce League and would always cause some fun rebel rousing amongst the group. He was also a member and Trustee of the VFW Post 1385 in Uxbridge. Tom traveled extensively throughout his life, not just for business but for enjoyment. Greece, Switzerland, Croatia and Cocoa Beach, FL were amongst his list of favorite locations, and he adorned his home with souvenirs to keep his memories of these places close.

Tom is survived by four children from his first marriage to Jacqueline (Wooding) Ryan: Thomas Ryan Jr. of Lisbon Falls, ME; Michael Ryan and his wife Darcy of Hurricane, UT; Trudie Ryan of Cape Canaveral, FL; and Margaret Ryan Evangelista and husband Steven of Manhattan, NY; and daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Giordano and her husband Patrick of Clinton, from his predeceased wife of 26 years, Dorothy A. (Riendeau) Ryan. He also leaves his sister Patricia Simonson of Naples, FL and multiple nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family. In addition to his wife and parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother William Ryan.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to greet the family on May, 20, 2023 beginning at 10:30am at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00am. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Honors, where he will be laid to rest next to Dorothy.
