Worcester Regional Airport unveils additional Florida flights

WORCESTER – Local travelers will soon have more opportunities to reach their destinations from closer to home.

During a press conference this morning at Worcester Regional Airport, Governor Maura Healey, Massport CEO Lisa Wieland and JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes announced more flights from the airport to Florida destinations.

On June 15, JetBlue will be resuming their flights from Worcester to Orlando. Then, come next January, JetBlue will be offering two flights a week from Worcester to Fort Myers. According to officials, this will expand to daily service in February.

JetBlue plans to use Airbus a320 planes for these flights.

Healey, Wieland and Hayes were joined by other leaders, including Congressman Jim McGovern, Worcester Sheriff and Chair of the Massport Board of Directors Lew Evangelidis, Worcester Mayor Joe Petty, Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Tim Murray and Worcester Red Sox President Charles Steinberg.
