Electronic recycling event comes to Shrewsbury

There will be an electronic recycling day at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church on April 22. 

SHREWSBURY – An electronics recycling event is coming to Shrewsbury.

The recycling day will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church at 34 Gold St.

For $5 each, people can recycle computers, laptops, DVD players, VCRs, small printers, radios, speakers, video game consoles, table lamps, fans, hair dryers, curling irons, projectors, drills, cameras, clocks, trophies, frying pans, holiday lights and other small electronics.

For $10 each, vacuums and Roombas, toaster ovens, ceiling fans, floor lamps, air fryers, electric grills, hot plates, small radiators, keyboard pianos, coffee makers, ice makers and small household appliances can be donated.

For $15, people can recycle flat screen computer monitors and small microwaves. For $20, CRT computer monitors, TVs up to 24 inches, dorm-sized refrigerators, dehumidifiers, large appliances, outdoor grills, treadmills, exercise equipment, snow blowers, lawn mowers, rototillers, power washers, large yard equipment and water tanks can be donated.

For $30, TVs between 32 and 35 inches, large refrigerators and riding lawn mowers can be donated; for $35 TVs over 36 inches; and for $40 projection TVs can be donated.

There’s no charge – though a cash donation is recommended – for cell phones, bicycles, wires, cables, chargers, car and household batteries, keyboards and tablets.

Residents from all towns are welcome to participate. The event will be held rain or shine. Anyone with questions can contact [email protected].
