Marlborough – Harris Raymond Woodworth, 90, of Marlborough, passed away,peacefully Thursday April 13, 2023 at Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A (Gagne) Woodworth with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Durkee of Franklin, Elizabeth Pratt and her husband Bruce of Shrewsbury, Wenderlin Donahue and her husband Stephen of Marlboro, hisson in law, Lynn (Pork) Prashaw of Hudson, his grandchildren Ryan, Derek, Brandon, Trevor, Shawn, Greg and Jackie and his great grandchildren Mark, Chloe and Blake.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Gordan and Marion (Smith) Woodworth, his sister Margaret Bartlett his daughter Cheryl Prashaw, his granddaughter, Kimberly Durkee, and son in law Frank “Dick” Durkee.
Better known as “Woody”, he served in the United States AirForce for 4 years. His passion was drag racing, his 1966 red Dodge Coronet 500 . He was one of the founding fathers of Central Mass Drag Racing. On the weekends you would find him at the track hanging out with the “Mopar Guys”. He was a perfectionist when it came to his carpentry skills. He was in the Carpenters Union for over 50 years.
He enjoyed meeting the guys at the corner store for some coffee and scratching lottery tickets.
Visiting hours for Harris “Woody” will be held Sunday April 30, 2023 from 1-3 at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc. 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
