WESTBOROUGH – Despite some rain and wind, the weeklong Westborough Unplugs program is off to a good start.

Sponsored by Westborough Connects, the program started off on Sunday, April 30, with a hike a Gilmore Pond sponsored by the Community Land Trust. According to organizers, more than a dozen attended despite the wet weather.

On Monday, May 1, there was a bike ride starting at Westborough High School, followed by a bike parade at Hastings Elementary School. About 60 children and adults came with decorated bikes to take a spin or two around the school.

Remaining events include “Bookin’ It to Bay State,” an independent reading event, on Wednesday, May 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.; A “Book and Seek” hosted by the Westborough Public Library on Thursday, May 4, from 6 to 7 p.m.; a “Dog Walk at Dusk” on Friday, May 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Park; a Local Author Storytime with Megan Litwin on Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at the BORO Sugar Shack; and “Unplug and Explore at Nourse Farm” on Saturday, May 6, from noon to 4 p.m.
