Joanne M. BarryHudson – Joanne M. “Chickie” (Tamulis) Barry, 82, lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Chickie leaves her son, Michael J. Barry Jr. and his wife Kim of Leominster, MA; her daughter, Judy Selby and her husband Shane of Upton, MA and was predeceased by her son James C. Barry in 2021. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Sabrina, Ryan, Dana, Shane, Sasha, Steven and Jacob; as well as 6 great grandchildren, Luana, Romeo, Damian, Asidis, Gracie and Owen along with other relatives and friends.

Chickie was born in Marlborough, MA and raised in Hudson, MA by her mother, the late Mary Tamulis. She attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Hudson High School. She was very active in her class and was a member of the Hudson High School Marching Band as a Majorette.

She was employed by the Raytheon Company, spending most of her 44 years as an Executive Secretary in their Marlborough, Sudbury and Wayland locations until her retirement.

Chickie was unique and special to everyone she associated with. Throughout her years she remained close to her 1958 classmates and was actively involved in the reunion committee, kept in close contact with associates and friends from Raytheon, and enjoyed meeting with the “Golden’s” a group of retired women from Raytheon. Good times, laughter and enjoyment is what Chickie brought to many gatherings and events. Her passion was trips to the casinos with family and friends for dinner, enjoy a show, free gifts and to gamble. For those that loved and knew Chickie, on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023, they lost a good and loving friend. She will be truly missed for her sense of humor and quick wit but never forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM. Family and friends may attend a period of visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM prior to the service. Procession will follow to Saint Michael Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson, MA for committal services.
