GRAFTON – Several fire departments were called in to deal with a fire on Upton Street on Friday, May 19.

There were no injuries, and Jackson, a golden Labrador retriever, was rescued.

Around 2:30 p.m., Grafton Fire responded to a structure fire at 269 Upton St., near Silver Lake. The street was shut down for several hours because water was being drawn from the lake by Grafton Fire Department pumpers.

The street was reopened around 6:15 p.m.

Mutual aid came from Westborough, Upton, Northbridge and Shrewsbury.
