Southborough – Nevio “Nick” Castelli, Jr., age 72, a resident of Southborough and formerly of Framingham, died Saturday, May 27, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Nick was the beloved husband of 50 years to Laurie (Frizzle) Castelli.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Nevio and Arline (Bean) Castelli. He graduated from Framingham South High School in 1968. Soon after he became a builder and real estate investor. He also formerly owned Nevio’s Pizzeria on Hampton Beach, NH for 10 years.
For over 25 years he coordinated with the local Toys for Tots drive and would donate hundreds of toys himself. In an interview, The Southborough Villager newspaper published an article in 2014 and call him “Southborough’s own St. Nick.”
Nick was also a lover of animals; and he especially concentrated his efforts toward the conservation of wolves. He formerly raised 3 hybrid wolves.
Besides his wife, Nick is survived by his children, Nevio Castelli, III (Kisondra), Kimberly Castelli Miller (Ryan), Jennifer Castelli all of Framingham. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Kolby, Nikolas, Nevio IV, Peach, Bowie, Maddie; his sisters Patricia Calzini, Michele Johnson and many nieces and nephews and his beloved German Shepherd, Axel.
He was the brother of the late, John Martino.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his visiting hours on Thursday June 1, 2023, from 4-7 PM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street, (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham. His funeral service will be held Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10 AM at the funeral home with burial following at Edgell Grove Cemetery.
