MARLBOROUGH –  A Westborough man has been charged in connection to the death of his mother at a Marlborough hotel June 1.

Daniel Uhlman, 53, has been charged with armed assault to murder a person over 60, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.

In a press release, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Marlborough Chief David Giorgi identified the victim as Nancy Uhlman, 82, of Westborough.

Yesterday, Ryan and Giorgi confirmed that there was an ongoing investigation into the death of a woman in a parking lot of a Lakeside Avenue hotel. Later that evening, investigators were on scene at the Holiday Inn.

According to the press release, a preliminary investigation indicates that there was an altercation in the parking lot. Uhlman allegedly “physically attacked his mother and struck her with her truck,” the release said.

Uhlman is being arraigned today in Marlborough District Court.

The release notes that the investigation is active and ongoing, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner hasn’t ruled on the cause and manner of death.

“Additional charges are possible,” the release said.
