Sutton – Gary L. Fields, 78, passed away August 11, 2023 at UMass Memorial in Worcester following an illness. His wife of 53 years, Gail (Lacilla) Fields passed away in October 2022.
Gary leaves his son Michael Fields of Grafton, his daughter Cindy L. Wolochowicz and her husband Peter, his granddaughters Cali and Brea, his brother Ronald Fields, sister Sandra Goyette and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Brad Fields.
Gary was born May 10, 1945 in Worcester, son of the late Blanche (Kowalski) and Irvin Fields. His roots were in Grafton, and he raised his family and owned and operated G. A. Fields and Son Trucking in Sutton for more than 30 years.
If you knew Gary you’ll remember a man who cherished a tight circle of family and friends, was a man of few words, but if he was close to you and had the chance to give you a hard time you knew what was coming. He was happiest close to home and loved his granddaughters who will miss their beloved “Bump.”
All are welcome to gather with Gary’s family and friends Tuesday August 15th from 4pm to 6pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536. A prayer service for Gary will be held Wednesday August 16th at 10am in the funeral home. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
