Jean E. RichardsonShrewsbury – Jean E. (Conley) Richardson, 72, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Stoughton and Pembroke, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, September 3, 2023 with her loving family by her side, in the comfort of their home.

She leaves her devoted husband, Ronald R. Richardson; their loving son, John R. Richardson and his wife Deyna, of Lancaster; one cherished granddaughter, Lily Grace Richardson, to whom she was lovingly known as “Granmama;” her brother, James Conley, of Walpole; and her nieces and nephews, Christina, Julie, Suzanne, Charlene, Kenny, and Stephen. Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Ellen Tocci and Frank Conley.

Jean was born in Boston in 1951, to the late Francis M. and Ellen M. (McCauley) Conley. She graduated from Roslindale High School, prior to beginning her career at Boston Edison Company. She then began her career as a Kindergarten teacher in Stoughton, which she loved – she left after about 10 years. After teaching, Jean worked at Tildon Sales in Braintree as an office manager, from which she retired after many years.

Jean was well-known for being generous and devoted to her family, friends, and especially to her beloved granddaughter. She was a very devout Catholic and had a devotion to the Blessed Mother. Jean loved her home parish of St. Mary’s, and her previous parishes of St. Thecla, in Pembroke, and Our Lady of the Rosary, in Stoughton, where she taught CCD. She was a lector and Eucharistic minister at both prior churches.

Jean also had a passion for music throughout her life, which led her to love many different artists and genres. She was a faithful Boston Red Sox fan, and loved to cheer them on – they always held a special place in her heart, especially since she and Ron met for the first time at Fenway Park.
