Marlborough – Gail B. (Mantha) Robinson, 85, of Marlborough passed away peacefully at the Reservoir Health Care Center on Sunday, October 1, 2023.
She was born on September 22, 1938 in Marlborough, MA, the daughter of the late Charles “Gusty” and Eva (Pappas) Mantha.
Gail was predeceased by her husband, Edgar “Robby” Robinson, Stepson, Scott J. Robinson and recently her close friend, RoseAnn Hannan.
Gail is survived by her Stepchildren, Angela K. Schill (Richard) of Hinsdale, NH and Stephen E. Robinson of Denver, CO, several cousins, and very close friends.
She worked as a Secretary for Raytheon Corporation, then for years as an insurance agent with Boulet, Downey and Wayside Insurance Companies. Lastly, she worked as a Pharmacy Tech for several years at the Framingham Animal Hospital.
Gail was named after the tropical storm “Gail” that hit when she was born. Gail was an original Bond Holder of the Marlborough Country Club. Along with golf, she liked multiple sports. At Marlborough High School (1952-1956) she held the highest scoring girls’ basketball record for many years. She was on the AAU Semi Pro Basketball Team and was renowned for her Hook Shot. Gail was inducted into the Marlborough High School Hall of Fame.
Over the years Gail also enjoyed skiing, roller blading, kayaking, hiking along with reading and crossword puzzles. During her stay in Assisted Living Gail was the “Champ” at Bingo.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. for visitation with a prayer service at 11:00 a.m. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA. followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.
