He is survived by his mother, Candace Hardenbrook, and his siblings, Susan Hardenbrook and her wife Mary Jo Wojtusik, Janet Bemis, and Peter Hardenbrook. He also leaves his nephew Carter Bemis, several aunts, cousins and numerous lifelong friends.

Jeffrey grew up in Dean Park and loved family camping trips to White Lake State Park. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1985 and attended Northland College. In time, Jeff then found his way to Denver, Colorado where he enjoyed working in the restaurant business, skiing and the beauty of nature in the mountains.

After several years, Jeff returned to the Worcester area where he worked as a courier for many years, spent time renovating the house he lived in and enjoyed quality time with his friends.

Jeff ’s friends appreciated his kindness and exceptional generosity. He would give someone the shirt off his back if he thought it would make them happy. Jeff always treated his friends as if they were family. Whether it was a backyard barbecue or during football season, Jeff got great pleasure out of spending time with his friends and making people happy. Jeff loved football and hockey and he relished watching games with everyone gathered around, as he delighted in making sure everyone was well fed. He loved to cook for everyone. Jeff was a friend to everyone who gave his all, never asking or accepting anything in return.

His acts of generosity extended far and wide, from providing supplies for projects to building a gazebo that his friends got married under and even purchasing a new refrigerator for them when theirs broke down right before their wedding. Acts of kindness and generosity were what Jeff was about.

Jeff always loved video and board games, where his brilliant strategic mind shone. He also liked to create crossword puzzles. Small building and renovation projects were among his creative pursuits, some meaningful projects done for friends leaving behind a legacy of his regard for them.

Jeff ’s selflessness toward his friends and family will be cherished and remembered forever. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned.
