Shirley M. DwinnellAuburn/Northborough – In the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 1, 2023, Shirley M. Dwinnell closed her eyes to her life here on earth and opened them to her new life in Heaven. She was 90 years old and the devoted wife of 64 years and the best friend to Paul E. Dwinnell.

In addition to Paul, Shirley is survived by two daughters, Sandra Knurowski and her husband John of Dudley and Janice E. Kemp and her husband Gary of Clemont, FL; two grandchildren, Michelle Verham and her husband Justin and Paul Foucher and his wife Kaitlyn as well as 6 beloved great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Worcester, Shirley was the daughter of Frederick and Maud (Crabtree) Studley. Her three siblings, John Studley, Olive Duff and Grace Cartmell, preceded Shirley in death. In 1963, Shirley and Paul relocated to Northborough where they would reside until their recent move to the Brookdale Eddy Pond Community in Auburn. The couple are longtime members of Trinity Church of Northborough.

Prior to retirement, Shirley was a dedicated employee of over 20 years at the Laurence Candle Factory in Northborough. She enjoyed crafting within a variety of mediums including but not limited to ceramics, knitting, needle and thread, crocheting, beadmaking. She enjoyed making homemade gifts for those she loved and often would donate her handiwork for church fairs and bazaars. Shirley deeply loved her family. She enjoyed spending time vacationing with them on Cape Cod and on York Beach, Maine. She was a patient teacher, a confidant and friend to her daughters and enjoyed sharing her sewing skills with them.

A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, November 9, in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
