Grafton – Robert W. “Bob” Forsberg, 97, passed away November 13, 2023 at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Westborough.
He leaves his wife Gladys (Lang) Forsberg, his daughter Wendy Donohue and her husband Kevin and their children Christopher Donohue, Matthew Donohue and his wife Laura and their daughter Madison, and Kurt Donohue, his stepdaughter Doris Iandoli and her husband Albert and their children Albert and Diana and stepson Russell Chase and his wife Monica and their children Erin, Lisa and Zachary, his sister Harriett Dean and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife Helen Forsberg and brothers Philip E. Forsberg, Jr. and Gordon Forsberg.
Bob was born March 25, 1946 in Holden, MA, son of the late Philip E. Forsberg, Sr. and Greta C. (Bergstrand). He was educated in Worcester public schools and attended Worcester Junior College and the WPI where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management. He served proudly in the United States Army during World War II with the 553rd Field Artillery and was a Staff Sergeant.
Following his military service Bob was employed at Bay State Abrasives in Westborough for 38 years as a General Foreman and Quality Control Engineer. He was also a mason and was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge in North Grafton where he served as Post Master. He was also a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Westborough.
All are welcome to gather with Bob’s family and friends Friday November 17th from 9-10:30am at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536 followed by his funeral service at 11am at the First United Methodist Church of Westborough 120 W Main St. Westborough, MA 01581. He will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton.
