Marlborough – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Carol at the age of 84, surrounded by her loving family on December 16, 2023. She courageously faced a prolonged illness with grace, strength, and unwavering resilience.
Born on March 6, 1939, in Medford, MA, Carol touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and enduring love. She was a devoted wife, a beloved mother, treasured grammy, and a cherished friend. Her legacy of love and warmth will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Carol is survived by her devoted husband, John McStay, with whom she shared sixty six years of memories and joys.
A dedicated mother of six, Carol McStay leaves behind a profound impact on her children, Linda, John, Kate, James, Steven, and Patrick. Her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and unconditional love shaped the individuals they are today. In addition to her immediate family, Carol is remembered fondly by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a wide circle of friends and extended family members. Her home was a sanctuary of love and hospitality, and she welcomed everyone with open arms.
A Christian of faith, Carol found solace and strength in her spirituality, and her belief in the power of love and kindness guided her throughout her life.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical professionals and caregivers at The Coleman House who supported Carol during her illness.
Visiting hours for Carol will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 10:30am-12:30pm at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant Street, Marlborough, MA 01752. A private burial will follow.
