MARLBOROUGH – About 50 people joined Mayor J. Christian Dumais and state Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Brian Arrigo on a trail walk in the city’s Ghiloni Park on April 21.
The walk was part of the city’s Earth Day observance.
“I expected to see maybe five people,” Dumais said. “I had no idea we’d attract a crowd on a Sunday morning.”
Also joining the walk was Mass Parks for All (MPA) Executive Director Doug Pizzi. MPA is the state’s only statewide charitable corporation focused on supporting state parks.
“It was great to see people enjoying the outdoors at one of the city’s premier parks,” Pizzi said. “Our parks are essential to support our physical and mental well-being.”
Also joining the two-mile walk were state Sen. Jamie Eldridge and state Rep. Danielle Gregoire, both of Marlborough, and city councilors Sean Navin and Teona Brown.
