Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Saturday, May 11. Letter carriers from across the country will collect nonperishable food and personal care items for local agencies, including the Westborough Food Pantry. Leave items by your mailbox for pickup – no expired or damaged items, please.

Yard Sale

Saturday, May 11, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Congregational Church of Westborough, 57 West Main St., Westborough. Bag sale will start at 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Women’s Fellowship; proceeds will go toward the renovation of the church’s kitchen.

Community Yard Sale

Saturday, May 11, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Grafton Common and various locations in town. Rain or shine. Information: www.graftonrec.com.

Household Hazardous Waste Day

The city of Marlborough and the town of Hudson will host their annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Facility, 860 Boston Post Road East.

The following items may be brought – acids/bases, aerosols, air conditioners, antifreeze, auto batteries, brake fluid, corrosives, drain openers, flammables, computers, furniture stains, fluorescent bulbs, household cleaners, household polishes, rechargeable batteries, kerosene, lighter fluid, oil-based paints, propane tanks, microwaves, monitors, pesticides, photo chemicals, poisons, pool chemicals, thinners, used motor oil, weed killers, wood preservatives, TVs and VCRs.

Do not bring these items – asbestos, radioactive materials, latex/acrylic paint, unknown or unlabeled materials, PCBs, reactive or unstable materials, single-use batteries, no large appliances, explosives, drums, medical waste, tires.

This is for residents of Marlborough and Hudson only; please bring proof of residency.

Medication will not be collected. Bring unwanted or expired medications to your local police station or to the following CVS locations – 264 East Main St., Marlborough; 234 Washington St., Hudson – for proper disposal.

Remember Our Angels 5K Run/Walk

The seventh annual Remembering Our Angels 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, May 11, at 10 a.m. The event will start and finish at the Moose Lodge, 67 Fitchburg St., Marlborough; the course will feature the Assabet River Rail Trail.

Entry fee is $50, and will include a 5K T-shirt for both the in-person and virtual events.
Awards will be given for the top male and female overall winners; top male and female under 18; and top male and female over 50. The Angels Trophy will be awarded to the team with the most registrations.

Amenities will include parking, shuttle service, water stations, restrooms, refreshments, post-race cookout and party, raffles, and T-shirts.

Proceeds will benefit Team Sharing, a nonprofit that helps support individuals and families affected by addiction, and the loss of loved ones and family members.

Plant Sale and Raffle

Saturday, May 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Grafton Garden Club. Annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs and more will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit the club’s scholarship funds and programs.
