Mark C. DurfeeGrafton – Mark C. Durfee, 67, passed away on May 7 from metastatic liposarcoma.

Mark was a graduate of St. John’s High School, Shrewsbury. He achieved Eagle Scout rank as a member of Grafton Troop 107. Mark graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in accounting and played his trombone in the BC Eagles Marching Band. Mark completed an evening MBA at Northeastern University.

He worked in various industries in finance, most recently as Controller at ProVerde Laboratories in Milford.

Mark leaves his father and mother, George and Alberta and sister, Melissa, all of Grafton, sister, Dr. Andrea (Bill) Pierce of Seneca, SC, their 2 children, Matt (Jeannie) Pierce and their sons, Charlie and Austin, all of Charlotte, NC and Alyssa Pierce and her partner, Sylvan, of Paris, France.

Mark enjoyed music, concerts, classic cars, working out and recently returned to skiing and bicycling. He was an avid fan of the Museum of Science, visiting Boston and riding the “T”. In Grafton, Mark volunteered as head usher for Our Lady of Hope – St. Philip’s and served on the town Cable Oversight and Public Works Advisory Committees.

Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton is coordinating arrangements. A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, May 18 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope – St. Philip’s on West Street in Grafton.
