Doris Racine, 90, of Shrewsbury


Doris RacineShrewsbury – Doris (Dube) Racine, 90, a resident of Shrewsbury since 1966, most recently of the Southgate Community died on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the Fairlawn Hospital in Worcester.

She was born and raised in Fall River, MA daughter of the late Alfred and Ida (Saindon) Dube. She graduated from Durfee High in Fall River. She married the love of her life there, Marcel Racine in 1953 and spent the next 64 years together before he passed in 2017.

Doris most loved time with her family, her volunteer work, and traveling. Her faith was extremely important to her. She was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Parish in Shrewsbury where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Her later years at Southgate provided an opportunity to devote time to crafts such crocheting and knitting as well as spending time with old and new friends.

She leaves her children, Michael P. Racine and his wife Donna of Worcester, Catherine I. Racine Kimball of Worcester, wife of the late Doug Kimball, Carol A. Gregoire of Worcester, wife of the late Harvey Gregoire and Susan Racine Passmore and her husband Ben of Madison, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Christopher Racine and his wife Jessica, Cheryl Santos and her husband Jose all of Worcester, Mazelie and Claire Passmore of Madison, Wisconsin; three great grandchildren, Victoria, Ray and Sophie; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene and a brother, Norman.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Doris’s family on Monday, May 20, 2024 from 9:30-10:30am in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass celebrating Doris’s life will follow at 11:00am in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
