Westborough – Dr. Jerald A. Rice, 87, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, at home. Jerald was born on July 10, 1936, in Millbury, MA, the son of Everett and Elizabeth (Richardson) Rice.
After graduating from Millbury High School, he pursued higher education at Clark University, where he earned a degree in Education. He furthered his academic journey, obtaining his M.Ed. and M.Sc., and embarked on a career teaching earth science at Hopedale and Framingham North High Schools, as well as geology at Boston College.
Driven by his passion for healing and wellness, Jerald pursued a Doctoral degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic. Subsequently, he dedicated over 35 years to his Chiropractic Practice in Grafton, positively impacting countless lives in his community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jerry found joy in various pursuits. He actively engaged in coaching and refereeing high school basketball, leaving an indelible mark on the Clark and MA State basketball tournaments. His zest for life extended to his love for travel, having explored over 70 countries with enthusiasm and curiosity. Jerry cherished moments spent with family and friends, relishing weekend getaways to Lake Winnipesaukee and fostering cherished memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dr. Meredith Rice. He is survived by his loving children: Dr. Steven Rice and wife Janine Aversing, Dana Rice and wife Paula, Dr. Heather Rice and her husband Dr. Patrick MacManaway, and Dr. Parrish Rice and wife Dr. Janet Welch. His legacy continues through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In honoring Jerald’s memory, his family has chosen to hold private memorial services and burial.
