Tempe, AZ – Dan Michael White, of Tempe, AZ, formerly of Hudson, MA, passed on Saturday, May 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 22 years to Joyce White.
Dan was born on July 11, 1947 at Framingham Union Hospital to his late parents, Donald and Virginia (Fish) White. He was raised in Hudson, MA and graduated from Hudson Catholic High in 1965.
He obtained a Bachelor of Science from Framingham State College in 1969. He then served as a lab technician in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1975. After serving in the army, Dan obtained his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Boston University in 1981. He spent his career as a software engineer at Intel Corporation until he retired.
In his spare time, Dan was a drummer of the Daddio’s band of Wayland, MA and enjoyed square dancing. He volunteered to place flags on the graves of veterans in the Hudson cemeteries, for Memorial Day and Veterans Day observances, for 50 years. When he moved to Arizona, he volunteered at Butterfly Wonderland. He had an avid love for cats as well as for the Grinch. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his sister Pam (White) Almada and her husband Mike Almada of Plymouth, MA; stepdaughters Carla Dominguez of Framingham, MA, Carra Dominguez and her partner Tony Araujo of Holliston, MA, and Carissa Dominguez of North Kingstown, RI; nieces and nephews Ben Almada of Plymouth, MA, Katherine Knott of Homberg, Germany, Elizabeth Almada of Salt Lake City, UT and Ethan Almada, his wife Jenny, children Ella and Colton of Kingston, MA; grandsons SGT Carlos Dominguez, Steven Dominguez, Antonio Araujo and Emilio Araujo.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 4pm-7pm at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Service will take place at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10 am. The service will be followed by an interment at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson, MA. A collation to celebrate Dan’s life will follow at the Hudson Eagles, 271 Cox Street, Hudson, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dan’s memory to Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale, Arizona.
