Northborough – Lorraine M. Roy, 82, a resident of Northborough for the past 57 years, passed away on May 19, 2024, at The Coleman House in Northborough after a lengthy illness.
She was born and raised in Berlin, NH, as the 12th of 13 children to her parents Edgar and Carona Jutras. Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, David A. Roy, as well as her granddaughter, Jamie Benedict.
Lorraine was a dedicated employee at UMass Medical Center in Worcester for 15 years, serving as a central sterile technician before finding joy as a floral arranger at the former Fiske’s Garden Center in Northborough.
She leaves behind her loving children, Patricia Benedict and her husband Jay of Northborough, Michael Roy and his wife Karen of Grafton, and Don Roy and his wife Terri of Uxbridge; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Cote of CT, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Bella.
Lorraine found happiness in simple pleasures such as running the snack bar at NorthStar Youth Forum, golfing, and tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending summers in Jefferson, NH and winters in Dade City, FL. She also had a passion for traveling and bingo. She was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Hills Church.
Lorraine’s funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 29th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston. There will be no visiting hours and Interment will be held privately in Howard St. Cemetery, Northborough.
