MARLBOROUGH – The Department of Public Works (DPW) has issued an advisory about a private company soliciting water quality testing services.

The DPW said this company, identified as Quality Water Testing USA Inc., is conducting this activity without the city’s consent or authorization.

The city does check its water system on a regular basis, as does the Mass. Water Resources Authority (MWRA) at its treatment plant.

“All water quality testing is conducted by certified laboratories, and the results are submitted to the Mass. Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP),” according to the advisory.

To find information about water quality, visit https://www.mwra.com/watertesting/watertests.htm

If approached by a company offering to test your water, verify their credentials and understand they are not affiliated with the city.

For information, call the Water Department at 508-624-6910, ext. 33400.

A Quality Water Testing USA Inc. is listed with the Better Business Bureau; it is based in Riverside, Calif. There are several customer complaints posted, mostly on customers unable to reach someone after a card had been placed.
