Worcester – Bernard A. Farley, 87, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Whitney Place at Westborough after a brief illness.
Mr. Farley is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cecile (Gatineau) Farley; his children, Diane Webster and her husband, Robert of Northborough; Benoit Farley and his wife, Michelle of North Brookfield; Michelle O’Leary and her husband, Patrick of Shrewsbury. He leaves his grandchildren, Matthew Webster, Benjamin and Corey Farley, and Teagan and John O’Leary. He also leaves three brothers and six sisters all of Quebec, Canada, and several nieces and nephews.
He was born in St. Eugene, Quebec, Canada son of the late Edmourd and Noella (Desautels) Farley. He is also predeceased by two brothers, Eugene and Rolland and a sister, Therese.
Bernie and Cecile came to the United States in 1967 and made Worcester their home.
Bernie worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years with Omer E. Prunier & Sons Inc. of Worcester before retiring. He previously worked in St. Germain-de-Grantham, Quebec as a quarry equipment operator with Carriere St. Francois.
Mr. Farley was a member of the Local 4 union and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree.
Bernie took great joy in spending summers at his beach house in Narragansett, RI with his family and friends. He loved walking on the beach, quahogging and clamming. He also loved playing cribbage with everyone.
Private entombment will take place in Notre Dame Mausoleum 162 Webster St. Worcester.
