Bradley R. RemillardOct. 23, 1947 ~ May 27, 2024

Whitinsville – Brad Remillard, 76, of Whitinsville, MA, lost his valiant battle on May 27, after a short and unexpected illness.

He was born on October 23, 1947, in Worcester, MA to Armand and Shirley (MacKenzie) Remillard.  He grew up in Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1965 where he excelled in sports. He then served in the National Guard for six years during the Vietnam War era.

Brad was a heavy equipment operator for A.F. Amorello and Sons and was a 50+ year member of I.U.O.E. Local 4. He loved his life’s work and even after retirement at age 67, continued to become excited whenever he saw something big and yellow making noise and dust.

Brad and his family became avid boaters when his children were young. He never tired of being on the water. Until his passing, Brad spent summers fishing and commiserating with his many friends at the marina aboard his beloved “Family Ties”. He was a proud member of the Westerly Yacht Club for over 35 years, loving every minute he spent there. Brad had a fulfilling retirement on his boat in summer and fishing in Florida in the winters. The man always had a tan.

Brad’s greatest love, however, was his love for his family.  He was the greatest husband, father and grandfather ever.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcia (Stuart) Remillard; his sons and daughters-in-law Timothy and Jamie, of Douglas, and Scott and Stacy, of Northbridge; grandchildren Mike and Matt Remillard; Meaghan Blake and her husband Brandon; Nicole Remillard; and Chris Staruk.

Brad was delighted with his great-grandchildren Trae Blake and Kennedy Staruk. He also leaves his brother Jeffrey and his wife Celeste; sisters-in-law Beverly Remillard, Janice Trembly and her husband Will; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Brad was blessed with many wonderful friends who will surely miss him, and his ever-present bright smile and “good morning” wishes. He was known by all as a true gentleman.

Per Brad’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral.  A celebration of a life well-lived will be held from 1-5PM, on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Westerly Yacht Club, 1 Watch Hill Road, Westerly, RI. Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA is assisting the family with arrangements.
