Shrewsbury – Alison (Stromberg) MacDonald, 56, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
She leaves her beloved husband David B. MacDonald; their loving children, Colin A. MacDonald, of Westford, Shane R. MacDonald, of Shrewsbury, and Kylie A. MacDonald, of Shrewsbury; her siblings, Eric W. Stromberg, of Swampscott, and Karen S. Haley and her husband Robert, of Marblehead; along with several cherished nieces and nephews.
Alison was born in Salem, daughter of the late Warren and Anne (Klug) Stromberg. She was a graduate of Marblehead High School class of 1985 and received her B.A. degree in Fashion Merchandising from UMass Amherst in 1989.
She began her professional career at TJX Companies, where she and David met. Most recently, Alison enjoyed operating her online children’s clothing boutique.
Alison loved spending her free time in her yard gardening, traveling with friends and family and attending many concerts, especially her passion for 80’s music. She was an avid reader and loved to explore her family’s ancestry. Alison was able to connect with people all over the world and was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Europe many times with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Alison’s family between 4 – 7 PM on Monday, June 3, 2024 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday June 4, 2024 at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury (kindly go directly to church). Burial will be held privately for her family.
