Jodi T. AdamsShrewsbury – Jodi “Joanne” T. (Megazzini) Adams, 69, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Jodi was born in Springfield on November 30, 1954, daughter of the late Primo L. and Marian T. (Hickson) Megazzini.

She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School, and lived most of her life in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts where she raised her beautiful family on Lake Quinsigamond.

Jodi was an incredibly gifted singer and guitar player and spent years entertaining family and friends with her talents. She earned two bachelor’s degrees from Framingham State College in 1985, one in Chemistry and one in Psychology, all while having two toddlers at home. For more than a decade, Jodi has enjoyed teaching drama to elementary-aged students at Cornerstone Academy. Jodi was smart, inquisitive, passionate, and always enjoyed a spirited debate.

What she loved most in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren whether it be trips of a lifetime to Singapore, Bali, and Turks and Caicos, family weekends in Newport, or backyard birthday parties in Wellesley and Charlestown. “Gaga,” as she was known to her grandchildren, was fun and hip, always up for an adventure. She loved buying the grandkids too many presents and taking them to events like Disney on Ice.

She leaves behind her husband John J. Adams, beloved daughter Jaclyn T. (Adams) Quinn and her husband Ryan of Wellesley, MA, favorite son Richard J. Adams and his wife Colleen of Charlestown, MA, as well as five beautiful and loving grandchildren, Jack, Anna, Drew, Lucy, and Finn. She was incredibly proud of all of them.

She also leaves behind her five brothers and sisters, Paula J. Fitzgerald and her husband James of Springfield, David Megazzini and his wife Lois of Chicopee, Peter Megazzini of Ellijay, GA, Karen Megazzini and her husband Robb Reed of Crosslake, MN and Sheila Rivera and her husband Edward of Westfield; and her many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and close friends. She was predeceased in death by her parents and her brother Michael Megazzini.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 4 with a short service beginning at 11:00 am at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington Street, Wellesley. Informal reception to follow at Papa Razzi in Wellesley. Jodi requested a celebration of life and colorful attire is encouraged.
