Anthony S. TrioMarlborough – Anthony (Tony) Steven Trio, (Hudson/Marlborough) born May 19, 1929, died on May 21, 2024, at the age of 95 at home with his family by his side.

Raised in Arlington and Barre, MA the youngest of four, his family lived in the “Italian section” in Barre. As a teenager, Tony left high school and worked at the Barre woolen mills to support his parents. A proud Veteran, he entered the Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War until 1953. His Army training gave him the chance to learn photography, which would become his profession once he returned to civilian life.

In 1986, Tony married Carol (Koundakjian) and together they raised two daughters Michele and Nicole of Marlborough. He took an early retirement after 31 years at GTE Sylvania and became “Mister Mom” to care for the girls. He was famous for making his delicious spaghetti sauce and meatballs, which he would serve to family and friends with lots of pride. He shuttled the girls to dance class, attended every softball game, and was always available to the neighborhood kids looking for a place to hang out after school.

Whether it was enjoying raw oysters, playing golf with his buddies, cutting the grass for hours on his riding lawnmower, napping in his recliner with a toothpick to chew on, savoring a tall glass of red wine, or playing with his beloved Yorkies, these were the moments that gave Tony so much joy. He lived a long and full life.

Tony will be interned at the Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
