Danielson, CT – Gerald. “Jerry” Huchowski, 71, of Robertson Ave. died unexpectedly in a house fire on Thursday, June 27, 2024. His wife of 32 years Bonnie. (Boucher) Huchowski died January 9, 2017.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Jennifer Huchowski of Clarkrange, TN and Maggie Huchowski and her husband Alex Mitti of Danielson, CT;  a step-son Jeremy Hadley of Bassett VA; 7 grandchildren, Jon, Jason, Samantha, Trenton, Lucas, Devon, and Mason, 1 great grandson, Azrael; siblings, Pauline Brockman, Joseph Huchowski, Robert Huchowski, Carol Moore, and Steven Huchowski, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends including Steven McGovern and his wife Tammy McGovern, and their children whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by 2 siblings, Dorothy Collette and David Huchowski.

Born in Grafton, MA on March 13, 1953 he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Krous) Huchowski and grew up in Grafton. He was educated from both Grafton public schools and was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Technical high school. Jerry was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran during the Vietnam war and was stationed in Alaska and Coco Beach, FL. He was a hardworking man and over the years was employed with Dugas Vending and All Season Services.

Gerald was very handy and could fix almost anything, dabbling in mechanics, plumbing, carpentry and electrical. He enjoyed cooking, specifically grilling, tinkering on cars, and listening to music of the 60’s and 70’s. He was selfless, and doing things for others gave him much joy. He was a good person, who was thoughtful and who loved his family immensely. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Memorial calling hours for Jerry will be held on Sunday, July 14th from 1-3 PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas with a service of remembrance to begin at 3 PM, and full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
