Blessing of the Animals to be held on Town Common

SHREWSBURY – The First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury will be holding a Blessing of the Animals event July 20 from noon to 3 p.m. on the Town Common.

Pets will be blessed and receive a blessing tag from Pastor Holly MillerShank. The special guest will be the Worcester Animal Rescue League, which will be promoting the pets that temporarily call the rescue their home. The rescue will also be sharing information about its services.

The church will also sponsor free pony rides from Ridge Valley Stables between 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Other vendors include Uhlman’s Ice Cream Truck, Polkadog Bakery, Shear Love Pet Grooming, Chiampa Funeral Home pet cremation services, FCC Youth Group Pet Photo Booth, NY Life Child ID Safety Program, and more.

The event is open to the public. In case of rain, an abbreviated version of the event, including a blessing service, will be held July 28 at 1 p.m.
