WESTBOROUGH – The town has issued a water discoloration advisory.
According to a notice from the town, the Ruggles Street Water Tank was taken out of service for a construction project. When it was disconnected from the drinking water distribution system, flow patterns were changed, creating instances of discolored water, according to the town.
The town reported that the initial phase of the project has been completed. The water tank is being put back into service, and this process may take several days and could cause additional flow pattern changes that could cause discolored water.
The town urges residents who are experiencing discolored water to run the cold water tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear and to refrain from doing laundry or using hot water until the water is clear.
