Northborough/East Dennis – Edward M. DeFeudis, affectionately known as Eddie, of Northborough and East Dennis, MA, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away at 79 years old, at UMass Memorial Campus in Worcester, MA on July 15, 2024. Born on November 29, 1944, in Worcester, Eddie was the beloved son of Josephine Piccerelli and Francis DeFeudis.
Eddie had 11 siblings and spent his early years in the Shrewsbury Street neighborhood of Worcester, immersed in the rich Italian culture. It was a fun childhood filled with adventures (and misadventures), and he developed friendships that would last a lifetime. Eddie graduated from North High School and was part of the first graduating class of Quinsigamond Community College, where he met his future wife, Candy. He furthered his education with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Clark University.
Eddie began his professional journey in banking before transitioning to a salesperson role at Harr Ford Dealership. However, his entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to establish Honest Ed’s Used Cars, a staple and fixture on Shrewsbury Street for over 40 years. His business acumen extended to commercial real estate, securing financial success and stability for his family. Eddie was known for his hard work, self-starting attitude, and relentless persistence in all his endeavors.
Eddie and Candy have been married for 59 years, raising four children in Paxton, MA. Eddie had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor, entertaining folks with his quick wit and play on words. In his leisure time, Eddie enjoyed golfing throughout New England, fishing, nature walks with his trusty walking stick, and spending time at the Cape house with family and friends. A fierce competitor, Eddie loved poker games, Scrabble, and Monopoly.
Eddie’s happiest moments were spent at the head of the table, surrounded by his family. His unconditional love and unwavering support for his family were the cornerstones of his life. In his later years, his greatest joy came from enriching the lives of his grandchildren, providing them with unconditional love, emotional support, and financial stability. Eddie’s legacy of strength, guidance, and genuine care lives on through his loved ones.
Eddie is survived by his devoted wife, Candy, and their four children: Amy DeFeudis of Shrewsbury, Wendy DeFeudis of Dennis, Todd DeFeudis (Cristy) of Cottonwood Heights, UT, and Ted DeFeudis (Karen) of Boca Raton, FL. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Brock, Annabelle, Damon Kyle, Lilly, Tyler, Spencer, William, Stefano, and Matteo.
