WESTBOROUGH – The I-495 southbound on-ramp exit 106 in Hopkinton from east and westbound I-90 will be closed.

The closures begin July 30 and run through Aug. 2 and will be in effect between 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

While the work is taking place, there will be a detour in place and traffic will be directed to use I-495 northbound to exit 59B. There, drivers will be able to reverse direction back to southbound I-495.

There will be signs, law enforcement details and messaging to guide drivers through the work area. People driving through the affected areas should expect delays, reduced speed and to use caution.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the project will replace the I-495/I-90 interchange, eliminate the old toll booth area and weaving areas, improve ramp spacing, acceleration and deceleration lanes and add an auxiliary lane from northbound I-495 to Route 9.
